Accounts Codes
Purpose of Account Codes: To label a set of digits as a fund. To name/assign sections of an account number. This tells certain reports (i.e. trustee report) where the account should fall on the report.
When/How do Account Codes get created:
Account Codes can be created in 2 ways.
Accounting → Maintenance Column → Accounts. Users can enter new accounts using new account codes on this screen. If the account code has not been used it will create it as inactive from here you will search it under accounting → maintenance → account codes. Once it is searched the user should check the active flag as well as the fund flag if applicable.
Accounting → Maintenance Column → Account Codes. They can also be created by using the maintenance screen for account codes. Users would need to fill out the number and name fields as well as marking it as a fund if needed and active.
