Add/update Homestead Liens

Use the following steps to add/update a Homestead Lien on a Parcel.

 

  1. Log into the eGov application via Chrome.

  2. Search for a bill via Bill Information or Search Bills.

  3. Once the Parcel loads, click “Edit Bill”.

  4. On the Edit bill screen, click “Homestead”. Any current Homestead Liens will be displayed on the right side of the screen under “Other Homestead Liens (Account Number)”.

  5. To the left side of the above box, this is where we will add a Homestead Lien to a Parcel.

  6. Click the Check box next to “Create Homestead Lien for years” and fill in the years that apply. Click “Create”.

  7. Fill in all required fields as well as attach the DR-453 form received from the PA. Note: File Format does not matter for the attachment. Field information listed below.

  8. Once all fields are filled in and all totals are confirmed, fill in the “Notes” Section of the Homestead Lien and corresponding reason code.

  9. Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page to save the Homestead Lien on the Parcel.

10.  The screen will refresh and return to the Parcel Info screen for the Parcel. In addition to this, the new Multi-Bill will also pop up for review or printing. Click on “Parcel History” to see the newly created Homestead Liens which are identified by the code “(HL)” following the year that has a Homestead Lien attached to it.

 

You have successfully added a Homestead Lien to a Parcel. Below is the field information from the Homestead Lien application.

 

  •  DR-453 Attachment: This can be a picture, Word Doc or PDF. This field is not limited to a file type.

  •  Months: Months are automatically calculated when the amount is added. This field can be changed but is calculated from November of the tax year and forward. Example: 2015 shows 34 months. That would account for November and December (2 months from 2015), Tax year of 2016 (12), Tax year of 2017 (12) and up to the time that this document was created (August 2018 – 8 Months). Total is 34 months.

  •  Comments: General field to track notes from that specific tax year.

  •  Penalty: This field is pre-set by the Tax office but can be changed by simply clicking the golden lock next to the Penalty field which will allow a user to then edit the below fields.

  •  Interest: This field is pre-set by the Tax office but can be changed by simply clicking the golden lock next to the Interest field which will allow a user to then edit the below fields.

  • PA Fees: The standard fee is set but the Property Appraiser’s office but can be adjusted as needed.

  •  TC Fees: The standard fee is set but the Tax Collector’s office but can be adjusted as needed.

  •  Total Bill: This field is a total of all fields and can only be edited by changing the values from the fields before this one.

  •  PA Name: Appraiser’s name who completed the property appraisal.

  •  PA Title: Property Appraiser’s Title

  •  Date: Date that the Property Appraisal completed.
