What is a Miscellaneous Receipt?
Anything a county receipts outside of a property tax payment. They allow the user to specify which account should be hit when the receipt is finished.
In Misc. Receipt you have to choose what account/s the funds will be allocated too.
Fayetteville is the only place to use violations. An example of this would be a police department that writes tickets and fills in a citation report.
How do you Create Miscellaneous Receipt?
Accounting → Journal Entry → Misc. Receipts
Once you get to this page you can access the account code by starting to type what you are searching and a list of default/pre-filled options will appear for you to select.
On the right side of the Misc. Receipt screen you will see a big red box around the whole thing. The goal is to have it turn green.
Why is it red? It is red because you have not filled in all the 3 red bullet points at the bottom left of the screen. (See picture below)
Once you fill in the 3 red bullets the box will turn green and look like this. (See picture below)
After you see the green box, you can then click the process button at the bottom left of the screen.
What is Property Tax Receipt?
Money receipted on property tax bills. These are entered on the “enter quick receipts” screen. These allocate the funds based on the receipt codes based on the tax year.
Property Tax receipts automatically choose the account/s that funds will be allocated too.
